It is well established that employee absenteeism is a substantial cost for employers and one which needs to be reduced in today’s economic climate. With the proper policies and control mechanisms in place, and a clear procedure for dealing with absenteeism, these costs can be substantially reduced. Generally the most effective ways of managing absence are inexpensive and easy to administer.

Managing cases of problematic absence can be complex and each case will turn on its own facts. The goal of this workshop is to equip people managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to investigate and manage instances of absence fairly and objectively so as to support those who are unwell but also to deter disingenuous absence. The workshop bridges the gap between the law and practice and includes key techniques, procedures and checklists to help ensure that you are considering all the critical factors.

This is a comprehensive workshop which is delivered in a down to earth practical manner. The workshop is highly interactive – through ‘real life’ case studies and role plays, you will get the chance to practice the necessary skills and discuss issues and concerns openly to maximise learning.
